Weekly Update January 12th

Writer's picture: Tammy HughesTammy Hughes

Hi everyone!

No school yesterday, 2 hr. delay today (Tuesday), snow on the ground, temperature in the teens... I do believe winter is here!!

And as a side note, it was 83 degrees in Omoa yesterday, lol. We've changed our departure to Tuesday, I'll be ready for some

warm air by then, we're supposed to be in the single digits some this coming week! Brrr!

As we prepare for our 2025 season, our 2nd full year. We know that the reason we are in Honduras is Jesus! We know that the efforts we are making for the less fortunate of our brothers and sisters, is because of Jesus! We know that the protection we have that is

surrounding us is because of Jesus! Everything we have is because of Jesus! My prayer this year is that Jesus will be glorified in all

that we do. That we make it a priority to look for ways to honor Jesus! Will you join me in prayer for our ministry? Daily? Thank you!!

Happy Saturday morning! It snowed a little more last night. It is pretty out, almost everything is white, but a very nice contrast with the

trees and the homes being highlighted! God is such a wonderful artist! I'll attach a picture Sindy sent me yesterday of a view looking

out at the Caribbean Sea, coconut trees, a mango tree, green grass, beautiful! And, lol, Antony mowed the lawn yesterday! Not something we think about doing here this time of the year. Also, a picture of Natalia cleaning up after some of the flooding.

For those of you who are interested in a mission trip this year. It is time to start filling out the applications. Especially the March trip. Make sure your passport doesn't expire within 6 months of when you are thinking about a trip. You are welcome anytime, come on down! We will plan your trip around what you want to do and see. We can do VBS, hand out food, do some work, sight see, snorkel, banana boat rides or a combination of everything!

Sunday morning, ready for church and a wrestling meet this afternoon. While reading the Bible this morning, I was reading the details

about Martha, older sister of Mary and Lazarus in Luke 10: 38-41. This is where Martha went to Jesus to ask Him to tell Mary to come

help her with the preparations that she had needed to do. It reminded me that it's so very easy to get caught up in life, because we

have responsibilities it's easy to forget the reasons why we are doing things. There is a time to just sit and listen to Jesus, the

beginning of worship, and there's a time to work for Him! It can be as easy as "love God, love others"... let's not forget the reason why

we do things, and to prioritize them accordingly. Jesus first!

Thankful for the friends and family that God has put into our lives!! Blessings, John and Tammy
