Hi there everyone! It is Tuesday, we were up at 3 am, left Columbus at 7:15 and arrived in San Pedro Sula at 11:00 am! Welcomed to our home away from home by Beto and Sindy, it's feels good to be wanted!! And just think, God loves us and wants us more than we want each other!! (I'm talking about YOU too!) (Romans 5:8 "But God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us
while we were still sinners!")
I did have some worry (I shouldn't have) as we were traveling. We were taking several pieces of equipment with us, one item was a welder that was donated . I was concerned that we may have to pay a lot of duty tax when we arrived in Honduras. As it turned out, God had gone before us, they didn't even look at the welder! They did ask a lot of questions about the vitamins we brought .
I've been keeping a secret ever since we left Omoa in March. Tammy had wanted a big tree removed that was shedding a lot of
"stuff". I had the crew take it down while we were gone. She was surprised! It opens up the view quite a lot, cleans up the yard waste
that was falling from it all the time... (a downside is it is hotter because it provided a lot of shade).
The crew is still working on plastering the inside of the walls. That is going to take some time, we can use this to fill in the blanks
in the schedule (hopefully there won't be any and we'll have to add some workers)! Ebert is painting the top of the gazebo too,
which looks like it will take several coats of paint.
And, for those back home, fighting freeze warnings tonight, I got my first mosquito bite within a couple hours of being back.
I didn't miss the mosquitos at all while we were back in the states! Oh well, it's almost dark and 83 degrees, I guess I'll put up
with it !
This Friday we're heading south to La Paz, La Paz to look at a potential project for us. The timing has softened some as they can't
get permits to build until they have the title transferred to their name. This might allow us to have most of the La Ceiba project
done before we go to La Paz! We will see...God is guiding our steps! (Psalms 16:9 "We can make our plans, but the Lord
determines our steps")
We had a nice trip and visit to La Paz! Thank you, Andrea, Henry and Kendra for meeting with us! They are going to build on a new development site. It's just outside the area where electricity is available. At least to start, and maybe for months, generators will be needed to operate anything electric! The things we take for granted in the states!
Today is Saturday, what a glorious day the Lord has made! We had a church in Gonzales come to our place and there were 4 baptisms!!
29 people cheered and gave thanks to the Lord for the young people who made the decision to give their lives to Jesus and get baptized!! Praise the Lord! A very moving experience, so thankful that we could be part of it! They stayed for several hours, enjoying
the beach, eating lunch, just fellowshipping! A great day!
Count your blessings, name them one by one! In His grace, John and Tammy
