Good morning everyone! I'm writing this from daughter Sarah's house in Iowa, it's raining some now. I heard there were a lot of storm warnings yesterday in Ohio. It seems like there are more storms in Ohio this year than usual. It is Thursday morning, we drove all day yesterday to get here. It's a long drive, so very worth it, being able to see the family and some friends!
The crew is still busy. They have started plastering the walls. I'm looking forward to seeing the progress! They pulled off for a day Tuesday to go help wash the front of the church and paint it. The new paint makes it look very nice!
We still have a lot of things to do, and not much time to do them! We're heading back to Honduras next Tuesday. We'll be here in Iowa until Sunday, then a long drive back to Ohio. That only leaves Monday to do a hundred different things! lol I don't think we'll get them all done.
We have some more paperwork to take with us, the lawyer in Tegucigalpa has asked for. One step closer to obtaining our affiliation. She's coming to San Pedro Sula the last 4 days of April, we're planning on meeting with her then. We also have an appointment set up to look at a potential project next Friday the 26th. The location for that project is La Paz, La Paz. It's close to Comyagua, which is just north of the capitol, Tegucigalpa. And we have a meeting with our project in La Ceiba May 5-12. Things are starting to open up for us! Also a team coming the first week of June and another team the middle of August! God is good! And brother Jerry is coming down for 2 months to help me with the construction supervision! If we get both of the projects, they could possibly be at the same time, and I can't be 2 places at once. Keep praying please!
We're on our way back to Ohio, about ready to cross the Mississippi River, a pretty river! We're jamming to "Spirit in the sky" at the
moment, reminds me of a moment a half hour ago where the Spirit allowed me to witness, during a strange moment at a gas station!
I was filling up and an elderly gentleman (is this a "pot calling the kettle black" moment? ) came over to me and said that he had a
very strange request, he'd just gotten steroid shots in both knees, and he wondered if I would help him into his truck? I said sure, and
in the following conversation I was able to share about our mission in Honduras, he left with a business card and a promise to spread
the good news! God has a plan!! We plant the seeds; He helps them grow!!
We're working on a couple mission trips this summer, one the first week of June (a couple spots available) and the other the third week in August (full). We're also working on one for the first week in July 2025! If you want to come sometime let us know! We want to fill up the schedule!
Remember to share the good news with someone this week!! Tammy and I are thankful for you all! And... welcome to the new
subscribers! I hope you enjoy the update. Also, if you want any or all of the back issues let me know.
Blessings! John and Tammy
